What is free and what costs money?▾

Free: accounts, posting and messaging, friends, saved items, business listings (claiming and editing included), standard Marketplace listings, adding rentals to the Host area, posting events and jobs.
Paid, at the published rates: Marketplace promotions ($9.99, $19.99, $14.99), for-sale-by-owner property listings ($79 for 30 days, $149 for 90 days) and Featured Home ($29 / $49), Rental Pro ($59 a month), the Digital Guest Guide ($99 a year per property), and advertising placements on the Advertise page. Card checkout for paid items is not switched on yet.

How do payments work?▾

Paid items are bought by card on a secure checkout page run by our payment processor; Smith Lake NOW never sees or stores your card number. A purchase activates automatically once the processor confirms the payment, usually within seconds, and your receipts and purchases are listed under your purchases page (for the Marketplace, Manage listings → Purchases). Card checkout is not switched on yet.

Can I get a refund?▾
Marketplace promotions and property listing fees are one-time purchases that start as soon as payment is confirmed, so they are not refunded once they are live, including when you remove the listing early. Subscriptions (Rental Pro, the Guest Guide) can be cancelled any time and run to the end of the paid period. If you were charged in error or something did not activate, tell us through the Contact page and we will put it right.
